Terms & Conditions
Gite Sicard is privately owned; the owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The owners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premises.
We recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover any accidents, damage or cancellations.
Rental Period
The rental period is as stated on your contract or on the confirmation from your booking agency.
Payment
If booking direct, a non-refundable 25% deposit of the full price is required in order to guarantee the booking. The balance plus damage deposit is required 8 weeks prior to the start date of your booking. There are no refunds if you cancel your booking less than 8 weeks before the start date.

Damage Deposit
A damage deposit of 200euros or £200 is due with the balance of your payment. The deposit is required to cover the cost of any damage or breakages to or at the property or any missing items, should this occur. The damage deposit will be returned within 7 days of your departure unless required. The property will be inspected after your departure and we will notify you of any damage, breakages or missing items noted other than those already reported to us. We reserve the right to hold the damage deposit for longer than 7 days if there is a dispute over damage, or we are awaiting bills/proof of damage.
Number of Guests / maximum Occupancy
The maximum occupancy for Gite Sicard is 6 people. This must not be exceeded. The maximum number permitted includes babies and small children.
Check in / Check out
Period of rental commences at 4pm on day of arrival, and ends at 10.00am on day of departure. Alterations to arrival and departure times are by prior arrangement only.
Linen
Bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided within the rental price.
Usage – Electricity / Water / Firewood
The cost of electricity, water and firewood is included within the rental price.
Cleaning
Please leave the property as clean and tidy as when you arrived. Should you wish an end of stay cleaning service rather than doing it yourself, please inform us on arrival. The cost of this is 75euros or £75.
Taxe de Sejour
We collect a Taxe de Séjour on behalf of the Communauté d’Albret. This is included in your rental price.
Pets
We do not accept pets at Gite Sicard.
Charging Electric Cars
There is no facility for charging electric cars in Sos and our insurance does not cover this.
Internet Usage
There is free wifi in the house.
Parking
There is parking within 2 minutes of the house.
Safety
For your own personal safety and that of other guests, we have provided smoke detectors and fire extinguishers. Smoke detectors are now a legal requirement in France and we strongly advise guests to not tamper with them i.e. remove the battery/deactivate them. This could invalidate our insurance in the event of a fire.
Fire- In the event of a fire, please evacuate all members from the house immediately and as safely as possible. If a small fire and you feel able, please use the fire extinguisher provided but please do not put your safety at risk.
Smoking
Smoking and vaping/e-cigarettes are not permitted inside the house.
You may smoke in the garden away from the house but please dispose of your cigarettes responsibly.
